The idea of “intuition” or “flow states” sounds nice, maybe even appealing, but also a bit… frivolous. Whimsical. Too woo-woo for serious work.
Camp Two: You’re intuition-led. You know the feeling of being “in the zone.” You’ve experienced those moments where time disappears, ideas flow effortlessly, and synchronicities stack up like someone’s arranging the universe in your favor.
But you might struggle with the “receiving” part—turning that magic into sustainable results.
Here’s what most people miss: These aren’t opposing camps. They’re partners.
And if you’re in Camp One (the logical camp), I’m about to make the most logical argument you’ll hear today: It’s illogical to dismiss something you haven’t tested.
Let me give you data points. Real, trackable, observable phenomena that occur when you tap into what some call “flow state,” others call “purpose,” and what I’m calling the integration of logic and intuition.
When all four were present, that’s when purpose showed up.
Not caffeine. Not adrenaline. Not willpower.
This is the energy that arrives when you’re fully aligned with what you’re doing. You could be physically exhausted, mentally drained from a day of marketing or meetings, but the moment you step into your purpose work, the fatigue vanishes.
It’s replaced by a presence of energy that seems to come from nowhere.
How to track it: Notice when you feel energized despite logic saying you should be tired. Track what you were doing when this energy arrived. That’s your compass pointing toward purpose.
Five minutes feel like an hour because so much happens when you’re hyper-present. Or conversely, hours fly by like minutes because you’re completely absorbed.
This isn’t the dragging time of procrastination or the anxious time of deadline pressure.
This is a different quality of time—what I call “purpose time.”
How to track it: Notice when your experience of time bends. When you look at the clock and are genuinely surprised by how much (or how little) time has passed. Log these moments. See what activities trigger this timelessness.
Ideas arrive fully formed, on a silver platter. Solutions to problems you’ve been stuck on for weeks suddenly become obvious.
You’re creating things you couldn’t create when you sat down to “be creative” through sheer will.
This isn’t about forcing creativity. It’s about accessing a frequency where creativity flows through you rather than from you.
How to track it: Keep a creativity log. Note when ideas come effortlessly vs. when you have to grind them out. Notice the difference in quality between forced creativity and flow creativity. The pattern will become undeniable.
The “coincidences” stack up. Someone you were just thinking about calls you. An opportunity appears exactly when you need it.
Resources, people, and circumstances align in ways that seem too perfect to be random.
Some call this “luck.” I call it evidence that we’re always influencing the reality around us and when we’re in alignment, that influence becomes more visible.
How to track it: Journal synchronicities. Note when they cluster. You’ll find they increase dramatically when you’re operating from the other three indicators. This isn’t mystical thinking—it’s pattern recognition.
Now, let me speak directly to Camp One—the logical minds, the entrepreneurs, the founders who’ve built everything through careful planning:
Is it logical to assume you already know every possible way to optimize your mission?
No. That would be illogical.
Is it logical to dismiss an entire methodology without testing it first?
No. That’s the opposite of the scientific method.
So why not test using logical approaches to tap into a deeper sense of intuition?
Here’s how:
For the next 30 days, keep a simple log:
Look for patterns. When do all four indicators show up? What were you doing? Who were you with? What kind of work were you engaged in?
This is your purpose vortex. This is where logic meets magic.
Once you’ve identified what triggers these states, the logical next step is to structure more of your time around those activities.
This isn’t about abandoning your logical planning. It’s about using logic to identify and access states where you become exponentially more effective.

All the other approaches to productivity and optimization—when compared to working from the vortex—started to taste like sawdust.
It wasn’t that logic was wrong. It was that logic without intuition felt dead. Hyper-logical. Extremely mathematical. Which is fine, but once I tasted the alternative, there was no going back.
And here’s the thing: I have incredibly logical friends. I love how much they love being logical. But I’ve noticed that logic often functions as insulation against something deeper.
It’s protection. It’s a way to stay safe from the vulnerability of not knowing how things will work out while expecting them to work out.
The sweet spot isn’t logic OR intuition. It’s logic AND intuition.
It’s showing up with:
This is the state where magic becomes measurable.
When you fully lean in with eager anticipation, with enthusiasm, not needing to know how it’s going to work out but expecting it to work out, the results are consistently better than anything that could have been logically planned.
But there’s a very certain feeling to it. And that feeling can be tracked, measured, and replicated.
For the logical camp: Your challenge is to test this without needing to understand it first. Use logic to give yourself permission to experiment with something trans-rational (not irrational—beyond logic, not against it).
For the intuitive camp: Your challenge is to track and measure these states so you can access them more reliably. The “starving artist” phenomenon happens when people create what they want without considering what people want to consume. The sweet spot is creating things people want, from the vortex.
We’re moving deeper into what I call the “authenticity apocalypse”—where AI can generate content, write books, create art. Anyone relying on external thought-appearing processes (not actual thought, just the appearance of it) is drifting further from their unique frequency.
The people who will thrive are those who can access their own signal. Their own creativity. Their own knowing.
And that requires both:
