How many copies of the book did they sell between 3 pm. and 5 pm.?

Let’s track the inventory throughout the day:

1. Start of day: 250 copies

2. After 10 a.m.: 250 – 35 = 215 copies

3. After 11 a.m.: 215 – 48 = 167 copies

4. After 12 p.m.: 167 – 52 = 115 copies

5. After noon shipment: 115 + 150 = 265 copies

6. After 2 p.m.: 265 – 63 = 202 copies

7. After 3 p.m.: 202 – 59 = 143 copies

We know they have 78 copies at 5 p.m., so to find how many were sold between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.:

143 – 78 = 65 copies

Therefore, they sold 65 copies of the book between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
